Here are just some of the potential uses for Soil Secret:

For every 4 – 6 inches of pot diameter, sprinkle 1 scoop (2 Tablespoon) of Soil Secret monthly over the surface of the soil. Water as needed. Because Soil Secret is high in humus, you may find that you water less often, using less water.

For best results if your water is chlorinated, we recommend allowing the tap water to set overnight in an open container before watering your plants. Chlorine will adversely affect the microorganisms and reduce some of the benefits of Soil Secret.

Water FROM THE TOP with castings tea as directed below. DO NOT APPLY CASTINGS TO THE SURFACE OF THE SOIL. They will hold too much moisture in the pot. Castings hold two to three times their weight in water.

Fill 1 refillable “tea bag” (found inside your bag or box of Soil Secret) with 1-1/2 Soil Secret scoops (3 Tablespoons) of castings and soak in 2 quarts of tap water for 10-12 hours stirring occasionally. Stir well. Either immediately water your plants as needed or pour the tea into a spray bottle to mist your plants. Empty the soaked castings from the “tea bag” onto the surface of the soil of any indoor or outdoor plant, except cactus. DO NOT STORE UNUSED TEA.

After emergence, monthly apply a teaspoon of Soil Secret in each compartment. Because Soil Secret is high in humus, you may find that you water less often, using less water.

If the trays are already planted, monthly top dress with a teaspoon of Soil Secret castings in each compartment.

When sowing seeds in your garden or flower bed, sprinkle Soil Secret over the seed bed or row before you cover. Then, monthly apply Soil Secret around the plant as directed above for Annual Plants or Perennial Plants.

Every other month, or more often as needed, gently work 3 to 4 cups of Soil Secret castings into the soil at the base of the plant.

When repotting houseplants or planting your own hanging baskets, container gardens or window boxes, mix one part castings with 4 to 5 parts of your favorite organic or all natural potting mix.

Early each season, spread 10 pounds of Soil Secret castings for every 100 square feet of new or existing lawn and water well. We recommend applying it right before a rain, if possible.

To speed up the composting process and to introduce beneficial microorganisms, sprinkle a thin layer of castings before adding new material to or turning your compost pile or bin.
